Barangay Bahay

Barangay Bahay is a very small barangay in the municipality of Abuyog, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bahay had a population of 343. This made it the 60th largest of 63 barangays in Abuyog by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bahay accounted for approximately 0.56% of the total population of Abuyog, which stood at 61,216 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bahay moving from 366 residents to 343 residents, an intercensal change of -6.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Bahay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Abuyog is a municipality comprising 63 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bahay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
