Barangay Silangang Maligaya

Situated in Agdangan, Quezon, Barangay Silangang Maligaya is one of 12 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Silangang Maligaya had a population of 854. This made it the 9th largest of 12 barangays in Agdangan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Silangang Maligaya accounted for approximately 6.69% of the total population of Agdangan, which stood at 12,764 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 819 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 854 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Silangang Maligaya is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Agdangan is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Silangang Maligaya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
