Barangay Purok

Situated in Agoo, La Union, Barangay Purok is one of 49 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Purok had a population of 768. This made it the 42nd largest of 49 barangays in Agoo by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Purok accounted for approximately 1.16% of the total population of Agoo, which stood at 66,028 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Purok moving from 654 residents to 768 residents, an intercensal change of +17.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Purok is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
