Barangay Dado

Situated in Alamada, Cotabato, Barangay Dado is one of 17 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Dado had a population of 11,912. This made it the 1st largest of 17 barangays in Alamada by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dado accounted for approximately 17.35% of the total population of Alamada, which stood at 68,659 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 11,800 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 11,912 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.9%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Dado is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Alamada is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dado, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cotabato, which contains 543 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Dado ranks 4th by 2020 population. Cotabato is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Dado is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
