Barangay Poblacion East

Situated in Alcala, Pangasinan, Barangay Poblacion East is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion East had a population of 1,474. This made it the 16th largest of 21 barangays in Alcala by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion East accounted for approximately 3.01% of the total population of Alcala, which stood at 48,908 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,438 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,474 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion East as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Alcala is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion East, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poblacion East ranks 903rd by 2020 population.
