Barangay Balabago

Situated in Alimodian, Iloilo, Barangay Balabago is one of 51 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balabago had a population of 601. This made it the 22nd largest of 51 barangays in Alimodian by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balabago accounted for approximately 1.51% of the total population of Alimodian, which stood at 39,722 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 476 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 601 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +26.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Balabago is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Alimodian is a municipality comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balabago, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
