Situated in Allacapan, Cagayan, Barangay Gagaddangan is one of 27 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Gagaddangan had a population of 223. This made it the 27th largest of 27 barangays in Allacapan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Gagaddangan accounted for approximately 0.63% of the total population of Allacapan, which stood at 35,234 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 199 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 223 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +12.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Gagaddangan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Allacapan is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gagaddangan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Gagaddangan ranks 792nd by 2020 population.
