Barangay Mabanguc

Situated in Aparri, Cagayan, Barangay Mabanguc is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mabanguc had a population of 1,021. This made it the 23rd largest of 42 barangays in Aparri by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mabanguc accounted for approximately 1.48% of the total population of Aparri, which stood at 68,839 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 942 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,021 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mabanguc as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Aparri is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mabanguc, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
