Barangay Sohoton

Situated in Badian, Cebu, Barangay Sohoton is one of 29 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sohoton had a population of 1,153. This made it the 16th largest of 29 barangays in Badian by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sohoton accounted for approximately 2.64% of the total population of Badian, which stood at 43,735 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Sohoton changed from 1,125 to 1,153, a shift of +2.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Badian. Barangay Sohoton is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Badian is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sohoton, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
