Barangay Banawang

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Banawang is one of the administrative divisions of Bagac in Bataan, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Banawang had a population of 3,460. This made it the 4th largest of 14 barangays in Bagac by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Banawang accounted for approximately 11.03% of the total population of Bagac, which stood at 31,365 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Banawang moving from 2,784 residents to 3,460 residents, an intercensal change of +24.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Banawang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bagac is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Banawang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
