Barangay Bulbulala

Barangay Bulbulala is a small barangay in the municipality of Balaoan, located in the province of La Union, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bulbulala had a population of 1,814. This made it the 2nd largest of 36 barangays in Balaoan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bulbulala accounted for approximately 4.50% of the total population of Balaoan, which stood at 40,339 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bulbulala moving from 1,653 residents to 1,814 residents, an intercensal change of +9.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Bulbulala is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
