Barangay Duran

Situated in Balatan, Camarines Sur, Barangay Duran is one of 17 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Duran had a population of 5,473. This made it the 1st largest of 17 barangays in Balatan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Duran accounted for approximately 17.85% of the total population of Balatan, which stood at 30,669 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Duran moving from 5,920 residents to 5,473 residents, an intercensal change of -7.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Duran as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Balatan is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Duran, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
