Barangay Sukol

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Sukol is one of the administrative divisions of Balayan in Batangas, CALABARZON, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sukol had a population of 886. This made it the 46th largest of 48 barangays in Balayan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sukol accounted for approximately 0.92% of the total population of Balayan, which stood at 95,913 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Sukol changed from 947 to 886, a shift of -6.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Balayan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sukol as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balayan is a municipality comprising 48 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sukol, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Batangas, which contains 1,078 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sukol ranks 903rd by 2020 population.
