Barangay Tanggoy

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Tanggoy is one of the administrative divisions of Balayan in Batangas, CALABARZON, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tanggoy had a population of 1,577. This made it the 30th largest of 48 barangays in Balayan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tanggoy accounted for approximately 1.64% of the total population of Balayan, which stood at 95,913 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tanggoy changed from 1,887 to 1,577, a shift of -16.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Balayan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tanggoy as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balayan is a municipality comprising 48 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tanggoy, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
