Barangay De La Paz

Barangay De La Paz is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Banate, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay De La Paz had a population of 2,769. This made it the 4th largest of 18 barangays in Banate by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay De La Paz accounted for approximately 8.30% of the total population of Banate, which stood at 33,376 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,589 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,769 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay De La Paz as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Banate is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay De La Paz, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay De La Paz ranks 121st by 2020 population.
