Barangay Pila

Situated in Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur, Barangay Pila is one of 14 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pila had a population of 202. This made it the 12th largest of 14 barangays in Banayoyo by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pila accounted for approximately 2.55% of the total population of Banayoyo, which stood at 7,931 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pila moving from 201 residents to 202 residents, an intercensal change of +0.5%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pila as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
