Barangay General Prim East

Barangay General Prim East is a small barangay in the municipality of Bangar, located in the province of La Union, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay General Prim East had a population of 933. This made it the 26th largest of 33 barangays in Bangar by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay General Prim East accounted for approximately 2.45% of the total population of Bangar, which stood at 38,041 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay General Prim East changed from 868 to 933, a shift of +7.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Bangar. Barangay General Prim East is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bangar is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay General Prim East, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
