Barangay Cosili East

Barangay Cosili East is a small barangay in the municipality of Bangued, located in the province of Abra, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cosili East had a population of 981. This made it the 24th largest of 31 barangays in Bangued by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cosili East accounted for approximately 1.95% of the total population of Bangued, which stood at 50,382 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 908 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 981 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +8.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cosili East as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bangued is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cosili East, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
