Barangay Lingtan

Situated in Bangued, Abra, Barangay Lingtan is one of 31 barangays that make up the municipality within CAR.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lingtan had a population of 1,007. This made it the 23rd largest of 31 barangays in Bangued by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lingtan accounted for approximately 2.00% of the total population of Bangued, which stood at 50,382 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 859 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,007 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +17.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Lingtan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bangued is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lingtan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
