Barangay Bitaug

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bitaug is one of the administrative divisions of Bansalan in Davao Del Sur, Davao Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bitaug had a population of 796. This made it the 23rd largest of 25 barangays in Bansalan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bitaug accounted for approximately 1.27% of the total population of Bansalan, which stood at 62,737 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bitaug changed from 791 to 796, a shift of +0.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Bansalan. Barangay Bitaug is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bansalan is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bitaug, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
