Barangay Salcedo

Situated in Bansud, Oriental Mindoro, Barangay Salcedo is one of 13 barangays that make up the municipality within MIMAROPA Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Salcedo had a population of 5,868. This made it the 2nd largest of 13 barangays in Bansud by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salcedo accounted for approximately 13.75% of the total population of Bansud, which stood at 42,671 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Salcedo moving from 5,135 residents to 5,868 residents, an intercensal change of +14.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Salcedo is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Bansud is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salcedo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
