Barangay Balaleng

Barangay Balaleng is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Bantay, located in the province of Ilocos Sur, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balaleng had a population of 3,016. This made it the 1st largest of 34 barangays in Bantay by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balaleng accounted for approximately 8.13% of the total population of Bantay, which stood at 37,118 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balaleng moving from 2,481 residents to 3,016 residents, an intercensal change of +21.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Balaleng as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
