Barangay 2 (Pob.)

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay 2 (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Bantay in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay 2 (Pob.) had a population of 508. This made it the 29th largest of 34 barangays in Bantay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay 2 (Pob.) accounted for approximately 1.37% of the total population of Bantay, which stood at 37,118 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay 2 (Pob.) changed from 660 to 508, a shift of -23.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Bantay. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay 2 (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bantay is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay 2 (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
