Barangay Mabini

Barangay Mabini is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Basey, located in the province of Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mabini had a population of 2,831. This made it the 3rd largest of 51 barangays in Basey by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mabini accounted for approximately 4.99% of the total population of Basey, which stood at 56,685 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mabini moving from 2,741 residents to 2,831 residents, an intercensal change of +3.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mabini as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Basey is a municipality comprising 51 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mabini, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
