Situated in Basey, Samar, Barangay Tingib is one of 51 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

This made it the 1st largest of 51 barangays in Basey by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tingib accounted for approximately 6.41% of the total population of Basey, which stood at 56,685 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tingib moving from 1,297 residents to 3,632 residents, an intercensal change of +180.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community.
