Barangay Malico

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Malico is one of the administrative divisions of Batad in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malico had a population of 456. This made it the 19th largest of 24 barangays in Batad by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malico accounted for approximately 2.06% of the total population of Batad, which stood at 22,157 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Malico moving from 451 residents to 456 residents, an intercensal change of +1.1%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Malico is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Batad is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malico, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
