Barangay Tapi-an

Situated in Batad, Iloilo, Barangay Tapi-an is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tapi-an had a population of 956. This made it the 7th largest of 24 barangays in Batad by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tapi-an accounted for approximately 4.31% of the total population of Batad, which stood at 22,157 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tapi-an moving from 828 residents to 956 residents, an intercensal change of +15.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tapi-an is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
