Barangay Tabon

Barangay Tabon is a small barangay in the municipality of Batan, located in the province of Aklan, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tabon had a population of 924. This made it the 18th largest of 20 barangays in Batan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tabon accounted for approximately 2.76% of the total population of Batan, which stood at 33,484 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tabon moving from 913 residents to 924 residents, an intercensal change of +1.2%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Tabon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Batan is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tabon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
