Barangay San Pedro forms part of Bauan, a municipality in Batangas, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Pedro as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Bauan is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Pedro, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
