Barangay Abatan

Barangay Abatan is a small barangay in the municipality of Bauko, located in the province of Mountain Province, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Abatan had a population of 1,102. This made it the 15th largest of 22 barangays in Bauko by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Abatan accounted for approximately 3.44% of the total population of Bauko, which stood at 32,021 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Abatan moving from 941 residents to 1,102 residents, an intercensal change of +17.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Abatan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bauko is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Abatan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
