Barangay Sanggalang

Barangay Sanggalang is a small barangay in the municipality of Biliran, located in the province of Biliran, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sanggalang had a population of 1,111. This made it the 7th largest of 11 barangays in Biliran by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sanggalang accounted for approximately 6.29% of the total population of Biliran, which stood at 17,662 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sanggalang moving from 1,136 residents to 1,111 residents, an intercensal change of -2.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Sanggalang is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
