Barangay Sumabnit

Barangay Sumabnit is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Binalonan, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sumabnit had a population of 4,948. This made it the 2nd largest of 24 barangays in Binalonan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sumabnit accounted for approximately 8.78% of the total population of Binalonan, which stood at 56,382 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Sumabnit changed from 4,463 to 4,948, a shift of +10.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Binalonan. Barangay Sumabnit is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Binalonan is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sumabnit, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sumabnit ranks 83rd by 2020 population.
