Barangay Nabataan

Barangay Nabataan is a very small barangay in the municipality of Binuangan, located in the province of Misamis Oriental, in the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Nabataan had a population of 285. This made it the 8th largest of 8 barangays in Binuangan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Nabataan accounted for approximately 3.83% of the total population of Binuangan, which stood at 7,441 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 301 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 285 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.3%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Nabataan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Binuangan is a municipality comprising 8 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Nabataan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
