Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Binuangan in Misamis Oriental, Northern Mindanao, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 2,085. This made it the 1st largest of 8 barangays in Binuangan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 28.02% of the total population of Binuangan, which stood at 7,441 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,952 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,085 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Binuangan is a municipality comprising 8 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
