Barangay Batangan

Barangay Batangan is a small barangay in the municipality of Bongabong, located in the province of Oriental Mindoro, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Batangan had a population of 1,330. This made it the 27th largest of 36 barangays in Bongabong by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Batangan accounted for approximately 1.73% of the total population of Bongabong, which stood at 76,973 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Batangan moving from 1,279 residents to 1,330 residents, an intercensal change of +4.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Batangan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
