Barangay Villar

Barangay Villar is a small barangay in the municipality of Botolan, located in the province of Zambales, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Villar had a population of 669. This made it the 25th largest of 31 barangays in Botolan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Villar accounted for approximately 1.00% of the total population of Botolan, which stood at 66,739 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Villar moving from 1,007 residents to 669 residents, an intercensal change of -33.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Villar as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Botolan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Villar, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
