Barangay Salnec

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Salnec is one of the administrative divisions of Bucay in Abra, CAR, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Salnec had a population of 357. This made it the 21st largest of 21 barangays in Bucay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salnec accounted for approximately 1.99% of the total population of Bucay, which stood at 17,953 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 376 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 357 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -5.1%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Salnec is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bucay is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salnec, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
