Barangay Tica

Barangay Tica is a small barangay in the municipality of Bugasong, located in the province of Antique, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tica had a population of 590. This made it the 23rd largest of 27 barangays in Bugasong by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tica accounted for approximately 1.70% of the total population of Bugasong, which stood at 34,676 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tica moving from 540 residents to 590 residents, an intercensal change of +9.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tica is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barangay Tica is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
