Barangay Leron

Situated in Buguey, Cagayan, Barangay Leron is one of 30 barangays that make up the municipality within Cagayan Valley.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Leron had a population of 1,577. This made it the 5th largest of 30 barangays in Buguey by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Leron accounted for approximately 4.91% of the total population of Buguey, which stood at 32,148 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Leron moving from 1,549 residents to 1,577 residents, an intercensal change of +1.8%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Leron is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
