Barangay Taliao

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Taliao is one of the administrative divisions of Burgos in Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Taliao had a population of 688. This made it the 5th largest of 26 barangays in Burgos by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Taliao accounted for approximately 5.38% of the total population of Burgos, which stood at 12,793 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Taliao moving from 615 residents to 688 residents, an intercensal change of +11.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Taliao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Burgos is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Taliao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
