Barangay Arew

Situated in Cabangan, Zambales, Barangay Arew is one of 22 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Arew had a population of 1,239. This made it the 11th largest of 22 barangays in Cabangan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Arew accounted for approximately 4.41% of the total population of Cabangan, which stood at 28,118 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Arew changed from 1,049 to 1,239, a shift of +18.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Cabangan. Barangay Arew is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cabangan is a municipality comprising 22 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Arew, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
