Barangay Manguna

Situated in Cabatuan, Iloilo, Barangay Manguna is one of 68 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Manguna had a population of 2,399. This made it the 3rd largest of 68 barangays in Cabatuan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Manguna accounted for approximately 3.93% of the total population of Cabatuan, which stood at 61,110 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Manguna changed from 2,382 to 2,399, a shift of +0.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Cabatuan. Barangay Manguna is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cabatuan is a municipality comprising 68 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Manguna, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Manguna ranks 177th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
