Barangay Sulanga

Barangay Sulanga is a very small barangay in the municipality of Cabatuan, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sulanga had a population of 495. This made it the 51st largest of 68 barangays in Cabatuan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sulanga accounted for approximately 0.81% of the total population of Cabatuan, which stood at 61,110 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sulanga moving from 561 residents to 495 residents, an intercensal change of -11.8%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sulanga as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Cabatuan is a municipality comprising 68 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sulanga, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
