Barangay Cuancabal

Barangay Cuancabal is a small barangay in the municipality of Cabugao, located in the province of Ilocos Sur, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cuancabal had a population of 1,137. This made it the 15th largest of 33 barangays in Cabugao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cuancabal accounted for approximately 2.92% of the total population of Cabugao, which stood at 38,884 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cuancabal changed from 969 to 1,137, a shift of +17.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Cabugao. Barangay Cuancabal is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
