Barangay Linao

Barangay Linao is a small barangay in the municipality of Calatrava, located in the province of Romblon, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Linao had a population of 1,624. This made it the 5th largest of 7 barangays in Calatrava by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Linao accounted for approximately 14.32% of the total population of Calatrava, which stood at 11,342 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,511 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,624 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Linao is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Calatrava is a municipality comprising 7 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Linao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
