Barangay Santa Maria

Barangay Santa Maria is a large barangay in the municipality of Calauag, located in the province of Quezon, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santa Maria had a population of 6,939. This made it the 1st largest of 81 barangays in Calauag by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Maria accounted for approximately 9.66% of the total population of Calauag, which stood at 71,809 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Santa Maria moving from 6,849 residents to 6,939 residents, an intercensal change of +1.3%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santa Maria as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Calauag is a municipality comprising 81 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Maria, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
