Situated in Calumpit, Bulacan, Barangay Gatbuca is one of 29 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gatbuca had a population of 6,384. This made it the 3rd largest of 29 barangays in Calumpit by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Gatbuca accounted for approximately 5.39% of the total population of Calumpit, which stood at 118,471 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 6,332 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 6,384 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.8%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Gatbuca is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
