Barangay Semirara

Barangay Semirara forms part of Caluya, a municipality in Antique, and is classified as a large barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Semirara had a population of 13,605. This made it the 1st largest of 18 barangays in Caluya by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Semirara accounted for approximately 34.97% of the total population of Caluya, which stood at 38,908 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Semirara moving from 12,434 residents to 13,605 residents, an intercensal change of +9.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Semirara is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Caluya is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Semirara, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Antique, which contains 590 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Semirara ranks 1st by 2020 population.
