Barangay Dacal-Lafugu

Barangay Dacal-Lafugu forms part of Camalaniugan, a municipality in Cagayan, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Dacal-Lafugu had a population of 1,171. This made it the 7th largest of 28 barangays in Camalaniugan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dacal-Lafugu accounted for approximately 4.64% of the total population of Camalaniugan, which stood at 25,236 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,061 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,171 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dacal-Lafugu as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Camalaniugan is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dacal-Lafugu, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
