Barangay Sawat

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Sawat is one of the administrative divisions of Camiling in Tarlac, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sawat had a population of 1,240. This made it the 29th largest of 61 barangays in Camiling by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sawat accounted for approximately 1.42% of the total population of Camiling, which stood at 87,319 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Sawat changed from 1,104 to 1,240, a shift of +12.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Camiling. Barangay Sawat is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Camiling is a municipality comprising 61 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sawat, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Tarlac, which contains 511 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sawat ranks 393rd by 2020 population.
